If you feel like you're walking into your grandmother's home when you first set foot through your own door, then the time has come for a change. And because of advances in architectural design and concepts, improvement can always be achieved, no matter how crummy the apartment looked before.
Here at homify, we always admire how our experts can perform incredible transformations that seem impossible from the start. The apartment we're showing you today was rebuilt by the architects at Sumisura in Italy. How they managed to revolutionize an uncomfortable, old-fashioned home into an apartment with a smart design is beyond our grasp, but they somehow did it, and it's time for us to see the results!
A colour concept could not be seen in the kitchen. The colours are neither warm nor cold–just endless matte white. Although the cut of the kitchen was quite cheap, the design didn't exactly make you feel comfortable.
When it comes to interior decorating, there's good
and bad
old-fashioned design and this is a great example of the bad.
The decor of this dining room left a lot to be desired before the renovation. The furniture is run-down and the beige colour scheme made the room look dull and monotonous.
Even the bathroom was bleak and uninteresting before the renovation. The beige tones on the walls, the furniture, and the floor make the room anything but fresh and modern, and there is a lack of detail that would draw anyone's attention.
Where gloomy furniture previously occupied the entire room, a bright, comfortable space has now been created, which can be used for any occasion.
Here, the family can gather for a joint meal, and relaxing evenings are now suddenly able to be had with the soft and calming colour scheme and snug sofa.
From this angle, you can see that there is more in this room than just a dining room table. Each furnishing element in this space contributes to an elegant atmosphere. The old kitchen has now been revamped to not only showcase an incredibly trend-setting style, but the architects also incorporated a breakfast bar. The white walls in combination with the overall brightness of the space make this room fresh and contrast quite nicely with each black accent in the room.
Airy, friendly, and modern–who would have thought that the boring bathroom we saw before would ever elicit such positively descriptive words? Fresh colours and interesting patterns have replaced the dreary décor and made the bathroom a place where you can get fresh and beautiful in the morning. Just like in the other rooms of the home, modern design creates a functional, stylish, and timeless interior.
