Those of us who love to entertain need a customised home that’s not only perfect for our immediate family, but also ideal for entertaining. Guest bedrooms aren't enough–a large kitchen for preparing equally large meals and a media area to enjoy it in are often sought-after elements.

Our project today shows us a home that the entertainer would love! Designed by the architects at Makoto Ieyama Architect Office, this home has every functional item you need to host large parties or events. And to top it all off, it's sophisticatedly decorated, meaning this atmosphere is also perfectly suited for hosting work events.

Formidable façade

The façade of the home is cosmopolitain, to say the least. Two massive protrusions jutting from the front serve two purposes: functionally as the upper balcony and roof, and aesthetically as an imposing feature. The building is wider than it is deep, which creates a sleek-looking exterior, as well as interior.

Inside

Inside the home, we see the streamlined setup of the home fits perfectly with its wide nature. The back of the home is dedicated to food, while the front to entertainment. An enormous sofa, that is almost of equal length to the kitchen countertop, sits a few metres away from a large flat screen television, which in turn sits atop a raised platform.

The prep area

In the back, we have the expansive kitchen with a countertop large enough to fit three cooks at once, and there's even more work space behind us. Adjacent to the countertop is the dining room table that can fit up to six people. From this angle, we can see the entrance to the balcony, and the sliding glass doors help bring in natural light for day-time entertainment.

For fresh air

At night, this balcony is the perfect party scene. Bring out a few tables and chairs, a minibar with a few bottles of wine, and you and your guests can enjoy the soft glow of the moon as you chat the night away.

Bathing in style

Our last stop is the bathroom. Although not usually meant for guests, they'll still be impressed by the design. A hot tub in the back is ideal for relaxation or a romantic evening, but when on the go, the stand-up shower is the way to go.
