Wall cladding is a great choice for any bathroom and can even suit a wide array of different budgets. It is a very effective way to not only water-proof your walls, but also add in a definite sense of style and chic finishing, which is often overlooked in perfunctory spaces, much to our chagrin! There is a problem though; with a large variety of bathroom wall cladding ideas to choose from, it can be difficult to decide which one is right for you.

Previously, wall cladding was most commonly made of plastic, but things have evolved over the years, to the point where almost every conceivable material can be applied to walls as a form of decorative cladding! If you are feeling as though you could be tempted to consider cladding for bathrooms in your home, come as take a look at the 10 varieties that we've found and maybe ask your bathroom designer which style they think would work best with your existing scheme!

1. Wonderful wood.

We love the modern appeal of this bathroom and it is very much all about the wooden aesthetic. From the base in the shower to under the sink, not to mention the wall cladding, the entire room is encased in wood and has been interspersed with a slate grey that really makes it feel very contemporary. The uneven finish here demonstrates why wooden cladding ideas are so dynamic and valuable in terms of adding texture and tactile elements to a boring wall.

2. Splendid stone.

Cladding has moved forward in recent years, as we can see in this image! Stone cladding has perked up an otherwise understated room that could run the risk of being a little dull. Having used stone bathroom panel ideas here, the entire space looks as though it's been carved from a cliff-face and it works so well with the rich wood.

3. Modern and natural.

With cladding, you really can achieve any look that you want, so if you want the look of natural wood, without actually using it, you can use woodgrain-effect ceramic panels! They have the added bonus of being more waterproof than wood and will need very little ongoing care too.

4. A nautical twist.

Whitewashed wood cladding is perfect for any minimalist or nautical-themed bathroom, but don't be afraid to add a few more embellishments! The sculptural glass fish, seen here, have been easily attached to the wood cladding on the wall, to create a stunning and artistic installation!

5. Swedish style.

If in doubt as to the wooden cladding ideas that will work best in your bathroom, you can always go Swedish! Here we can see that the room looks and feels somewhat like a sauna and the vertical cladding strips have contributed to the room, as a whole, feeling much taller. Cozy and deceptive; what a combination.

6. Beach hut vibes.

Is this actually a beach hut? It certainly looks like one, thanks to the mix of color finishes! Natural wood and pale turquoise blue have come together so perfectly, to create an understated and beachy vibe in this bathroom. We are definitely inspired by the idea of having different hues on each wall!

7. Contemporary and clean.

It genuinely doesn't get much more contemporary than this bathroom. The lines could not be any more in sync with each other and every part of the design here has been thought about, from the way the lights cascade onto the furniture below to the cladding on the wall. The dark brown on the walls offers a lovely change to the stark white of the rest of the bathroom and naturally helps to break the space up, while also looking like genuine timber.

8. Modern mosaics.

We've seen timber and ceramic cladding looking amazing already, so now it is the turn of mosaics! The cladding panels here look very much like the real deal, in terms of being indistinguishable from standard mosaic tiles, but they are far easier to install. Now that's a bonus!

9. Marble effect.

Cladding for bathrooms doesn't get much more luxurious than marble and while it is a very expensive material, you can't underestimate the impact it will have on a bathroom scheme. The good news is that marble cladding gives you the look you want, but at a significantly lower cost and because of this, you can even use it on the floor and for bath surrounds. Elegant and spectacular!

10. Pretty in pattern.

When it comes to cladding, you can make a choice between smooth or textured, depending on the look you're trying to achieve. We like this idea, which sees tile-effect panels creating a seamless finish, but also adding some gentle undulations that feel great to the touch. Perfect!
