We know that, technically, the most crucial features of a bathroom are the toilet, sink, and a shower/tub. But, if we were to ask you to compile a list of special, additional features worthy of your master bathroom, chances are that you will end up with a very different list.

And if you’ve been thinking about remodelling your home, especially that bathroom, well then how about some additional inspiration?

1. Touchless faucets

There couldn’t be a better time for hands-free taps to become trendy. And let’s be completely honest about another advantage: the less time you have to spend touching a fixture, the less time you have to devote to keeping it clean.

2. Elegant countertop materials

There are certain materials and finishes that just lend an undeniable elegance to a room. And those materials, which differ considerably in price and style, are concrete, granite, marble, quartz, and quartzite.

3. Radiant-heat flooring

No time like the cold present to consider heating up those floors for your newly designed bathroom. And luckily, radiant heat is designed to work with some of the more popular flooring materials like tile, hardwood, and linoleum.

The other benefit is that it uses much less energy than your average forced-air heating systems.

4. Wonderful wood

Admit it: there’s something tremendously stylish about a bathroom with wood accents as it exudes a tranquil, spa-like vibe. But to avoid a water damage tragedy, rather opt for bamboo or faux-wood materials like laminate, wood-look tiles, and luxury vinyl.

5. Sufficient storage

Displaying accessories is one thing, but placing something out in the open for no reason is just bad housekeeping. Avoid a cluttered look and commit to storing linens, makeup, and other elements you don’t necessarily require for shower/bath time in cupboard drawers and behind cabinet doors.

6. Proper lighting

Don’t try your luck in front of a badly lit bathroom mirror. Whether it’s artificial- or natural lighting, commit to a properly lit space during the day and night.

And remember that, thanks to ingenious lighting designs, those bathroom fixtures can be works of art themselves.

7. A sensational soaking tub

High-end bathtub designs in copper, wood, and stainless steel are some of the trendiest options these days, regardless of bathroom style. And best of all is that you don’t even need hectares and hectares of legroom, since there exists numerous styles perfect for retrofitting older homes with smaller bathrooms.

8. A water closet

Sometimes a toilet with its own, separate enclosure is for the best. Like when a couple is getting ready simultaneously and one of them suddenly needs to heed to the call of nature.

And don’t forget that your toilet can also flaunt a luxurious feature or two, like a self-rising cover, a heated seat, self-spritzing air freshener…

9. Double sinks

Trust us when we say this will not only add a visually pleasing look to your bathroom, but will also save you heaps of time when getting ready with your significant other.
