Open-plan layouts are the norm with the modern style, yet here the formal lounge and dining areas do not seamlessly blend into one another. This was a conscious decision in order to clarify the unique style and importance of each separate space.

Subtle changes in furniture pieces also serve to further distinguish the difference between the areas, case in point the curvy classic-style dining chairs versus the sharp-edged and strong-lined modern ones of the lounge.
